Need help with Windows 10 options for new user

I am still using Windows 7 SP 1 with IE 11. I would like to know if it is true that Windows 10 will have no Media Player, no PAINT option, no email client without a subscription to Office 365?
    Thank you,
    TomS

    Welcome to TenForums @spetho2001

No, none of that is true.

The Media Player is still there. It cannot play DVDs any more, by otherwise it's unchanged. If you need to play DVD's, then you'll need another player like VLC.

MS Paint exists (for now) but is due to be removed. An App version is promised to be available free from the Store when that happens.

Windows 10 has a Mail App built in, you can connect to Microsoft, Yahoo, gMail or whatever you want.

Oh... and Windows 10 comes with !E 11 built in.

    email

I am using a desktop PC. I am interested in the Email client installed with the operating system. It would be Outlook. I do not wish to use the web based email service Outlook.com only. I want the email client but not by paying a subscription fee to MS Office.

The Mail app is the email client supplied with Windows 10. See the tutorial link I gave you in post #2 for how to use it. You can connect to Outlook, Yahoo, gMail and other mails services simultaneously.

    Not true...

    ... as of today!

There's been rumors of 'subscription' this and that though...

We'll have to see what the future brings!

OK so I see the Client is installed with the OS but I understand that you will not be able to use OUTLOOK without a subscription to Office 365? You can use the web based version of Outlook.com. This is very confusing. I looked at the post #2 tutorials that you posted. The pages look just like the OUTLOOK/OFFICE 365 pages. Why would they offer a subscription to Office 365/Outlook when you get the app included with the OS.
Also, so you can not use the PRINT SCREEN option on your keyboard to save a page on the monitor and Save it to Jpeg format?

There's other options for E-Mail installed clients, one is Windows Live Mail 2012 if it can still be found, I installed it the other day for a client. There's Thunderbird, installed it yesterday for a client on his new Notebook, worked good. If used to Outlook Express there's the OE Classic, works much the same way. Haven't dealt with IncrediMail lately but should work.

As to Office Outlook, you are correct you can not run that program without purchasing a version of MS Office I don't believe they offer Outlook as an individual program. This was also true for Windows 7 If I remember correctly Outlook express went away with Vista. Outlook Express - Wikipedia

You can restore the classic apps with https://www.askvg.com/tip-restoring-...in-windows-10/ The majority of people use VLC for media, Gimp instead of paint, Thunderbird for email.

I left a word out of this sentence, could be confusing. It should have said:
If used to using Outlook Express there's the replacement OE Classic, works much the same way and on Win10.
