    Hi,

thank you for your work, it's really nice and helped me alot since today.

    Now I got a problem:
If I open the powershell as admin, the current directory is every time "C:\WINDOWS\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0" - I don't got the problem from the beginning.

Maybe there are other people with the same problem? Do you need additional informations?

    Yours.

The version of PowerShell that is opened will on a default installation of Win10 show a different Folder, as (Admin) it goes to C:\Windows\System32 but the other choice goes to C:\User\USERNAME.

Hello thethinker, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Does the prompt in the elevated PowerShell have the correct path?

    Thank you,

only 1 PowerShell promt is opened and the path is incorrect
If I open the PowerShell (without admin - not elevated) the path is correct

Just to verify, the path in the title bar is not the actual path. The path you see at the blinking prompt inside the PowerShell window is the actual path it is opened to.

If that is not correct, then please go ahead and post a screenshot of the PowerShell window, and say what the full path should be instead.

Added note: because of the clients I've worked with over several years I don't customize most of my computers very much, makes it easier to see what they see when having problems. Besides, they are also available for sale or give-away as the need arises.

After doing some testing using the same path as yours, I found the problem.

The [ ] brackets in the folder name in red below is the issue. Something about having both brackets in it will cause the path to not be correct. If you rename the folder in red below to remove the brackets, it will work.

    C:\Users\User\Desktop\Microsoft_Windows_10_1809_[17763]\wim\Installer\exe\WinRAR

Thank you, I've found the problem too.
Maybe you can add it into the program-information or you can fix the problem and update the files.

Thank you very much for your (fast) help!

You can skip the Brackets with backticks (`)

    cd C:\`[Test`]
Maybe you can use this to fix the issue

    Yours
Edit: It's actually really strange, I get these problems only if I open the ps-promt elevated, if I open it in non-admin mode, it starts in the right path, even with the []-brackets
