A question: I just have finish the 30 days time for rollback to 1803. Is it possible to downgrade to 1803 or not?

Take an image of the system now and you will be able to roll back to it whenever you want. Most ppl here recommend Macrium Reflect for imaging but if you aren't familiar with imaging then I would recommend Aomei Backupper. It's what I'm using to protect my 1803 before it gets hit by 1809.

Sorry 'bout that, wasn't concentrating. I believe the only way back would be with a system image created before the 1809 upgrade.

    UPDATE:

New known issue added for KB4462933 in first post.

After installing this update, some users cannot set Win32 program defaults for certain app and file type combinations using the Open with command or Settings > Apps > Default apps.

In some cases, Microsoft Notepad or other Win32 programs cannot be set as the default.
In some cases, attempting to set application defaults again will succeed.

Microsoft is working on a resolution and estimates a solution will be available in late November 2018.

Not sure, but at times MS updates are to tweak us. I still use IE 11 and now when I click near the top bar I get a menu window. Little things that irritate me as if incompetent software people mess around..

M$ is going to do everything they can to make you use Edge...I hate it. I switched to Firefox. Windows browsers are getting as bad as the Android browsers, I can't find one browser that can do it all with no issues.

My Windows Update MiniTool does not find KB4462933.
    It found KB4462919.

I don't know why, but I'm almost certain they "inadvertently" released this bugs with default apps just to see if we just give up and let the defaults as is... it's pretty obnoxious, and also at the same time suspicious you have to reset your defaults just to be able to set your own settings again... and even there many people just can't set their default apps properly.

Not to mention the god awful time they took to acknowledge this bug... like they were expecting to better ignore it or something...

Microsoft is not only not getting any customer faith, but also loosing more and more trust... What are they trying to do? Dissappear and leave Apple as the only choice besides Linux?...

Thank you. My dongle is a "pin-Avid Wireless USB adapter."

However, I investigated and find that it uses a Realtek RTL8188CU chip - slightly different from yours.

(I grabbed your RAR from your Dropbox anyway - thank you.)

At the same time, I've found what might be a more useful one for me on the Realtek site

    https://www.realtek.cz/download-driv...ws7-32bit.html

It's a Windows 7 32/64 Bit driver for the chip I actually have, so i've downloaded it and will try doing what you did, but using MY download instead of yours. If that fails, I have yours as a backup.

So....never mind your English, Compagno - you reminded me to at least "think outside the box"

I'm short of time now, but I shall report back later this week when I've tried it
    Cheers!
@Warmikez UPDATE - quoting my own post to make it visible

I've been busy but have finally had time to investigate this WiFi issue, as I said I would.

In my case I'm putting it down to the fact that my adapter has always been a little "flaky" with an occasional disable/enable cycle being needed. With this Windows CU, it's just got worse.
Also, there are issues with it working after the LAN is plugged in and plugged out, therefore it may not even be the adapter itself. This PC (Dell Optiplex) is NOT supported for Windows 10 anyway so perhaps it's a USB thing in my case.

I've decided to use a LAN connection for this PC - I might try the WiFi adapter in my Unix box sometime but that's not a conversation for Windows forums. Then again I might just chuck it out!

If you want to see exact details of what I did, I've attached a text file to this post but this is where I am leaving it.

1 mouth ago I installed 1809 October 2018 update and I had a problem wifi Wifi. Then I restore toi previuos version and all was ok. Now with this update of 1803 I have the same problem: Wifi connection stay connected, and after seconds appears yellow warning, and non connection is available.
Have you got the same problem?

    YES!

One of my old test PCs was on 17134.345, installed KB4462933 taking it to 17134.376.

Got the exact problem as you described - WiFi would work for a while, (anything from 5 to 20 minutes) then I'd have no network access, (browsers or Ping) despite hovering over the system tray WiFi icon and it saying "Internet access"

Then after a few seconds, yellow warning, and no connection.

I'm using a cheap, but good external WiFi dongle on this PC and the problem could be temporarily fixed by ejecting the dongle and reinserting it - then it happened again. Cycle may be repeated at will.

Looked for updated drivers for the dongle - none found. Several power down and restart cycles - to no avail.

Uninstalled KB4462933 so now back to 17134.345 and all is OK

    UAUUUUUU I resolved my problem

    Use this instruction

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/097asrtpk6...192CU.rar?dl=0
Yes it's kinda random but I run it through Kaspersky Anti-Virus to make sure
Anyway I installed it and checked device manager, it didn't work at first as it was still using the faulty Microsoft driver
So what I did was to right click on the Realtek RTL8192CU Wireless adaptor and selected Update driver > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
Finally it gave me the option of 2 drivers, one from Microsoft which doesn't work and one from Realtek which does work yay!
Oh and another thing the above link also installed a software called Realtek USB Wireless LAN Utility which has some useful features

Thanks to NeostarNeko from Reddit.com forum

    I USED WINDOWS 7 64 bit drivers

Than I reinstall the KB4462933 and now 17134.376 is working
my Wireless Adapter is tp-link TL-WN723N V2 USB (Realtek Rtl8192Cu Chipset) and I have the same problem.
After 4 days of searching and testing, At the end I found these drivers:
These drivers work fine (Realtek RTL8192CU Wireless LAN on windows 10 + Update 1809):

1- Microsoft Update Catalog (Download version 1021.0.716.2012 For Windows 8,Windows 8.1 and later drivers - 2.1 MB)

    2- Realtek wireless drivers for RTL8192CU and Windows 7 64bit (version 1012.0.1231.2010 For Windows 7 64bit)

The first option is a better choice.

I think in 2019, we will start the year with a new operating system, because this Microsoft has destroyed completely and now does not know how to fix.It is error correcting error!

Maybe I'll really have to start my Linux classes!
