Here comes Patch Tuesday. Will MS push the 1809 again?

"Here’s the thing about Windows 10 Home. Microsoft considers Home customers fair game. It really should call it Win10 Guinea Pig edition. Microsoft has no qualms whatsoever in pushing its new, untested (perhaps I should say “less-than-thoroughly-tested”) updates and upgrades onto Windows 10 Home machines..."

Rumour: Windows 10 October 2018 update being re-released tomorrow

That's why when people say Windows 10 (Home) is free, I disagree. Free, with MS? Before, I always thought that MS was doing it to simply collect data from its Windows 10 users, just like how Google and Facebook operate. Now, I can see there's also the extended-beta-testing scheme.

Well, I for one....ain't holding my breath.

If I had to place a bet on 1809 arriving this 'patch Tuesday'...my bet would be on 'no, it will not'.

Post #6 "Is it any good?"
--- I expect it to be good, actually very good for most users this time around.
--- Make sure your computer's present updates are all up to date and your computer is running properly.
--- Create a system image backup.
--- As far as will Microsoft push it, don't you push it: wait until the computer informs you it's ready: that's the time to go for it.
--- As a "Reluctant transferee to Windows 10" please allow yourself to let Windows 10 run "naturally" unless you are an advanced user.
--- I do not consider us "Guinea pigs" but "participants" in ensuring our computers run as designed.
--- Naturally there are times it would be good for Microsoft to do a better job but in the real world it doesn't always happen.

    A little background.

Before I moved to Windows 10, the first thing that popped in my mind whenever I heard it was: spyware. BIG spyware made free to collect user data. Now, it's BIG spyware made free to collect user data and sell Pro and other MS products and services.

But it happened on a Wednesday, and not even on a "second Tuesday of the month." Go figure!
