Gill graduated from Glasgow University with an Honours degree in Law in 1995 and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice the following year. Gill then worked in the insurance and investment sector in the UK in a variety of risk related roles within National Australia Group and Scottish Widows. Gill also worked in Glasgow University via day release during 2011-23 as a part time lecturer and tutor within the law faculty where she taught Business, Ethics, Financial Planning and Accounting.
In 2013 Gill moved to Gibraltar and took up the post of Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Lloyds Bank International. In 2017 Gill attained the Professional Post Graduate Diploma in Governance Risk & Compliance Prof.PgDip (GRC) from the International Compliance Association (ICA) and subsequently in 2018 joined NatWest International in Gibraltar as the Compliance Officer. Gill is now both the Compliance Officer and MLRO for NatWest International in Gibraltar and in 2024 she attained the ICA Professional Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Crime Compliance Prof.PgDip (FCC).
Gill is part of the Natwest Gibraltar Senior Management Team and is responsible for maintaining strong relations and liaising with external parties including the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission. She also supports regulatory and business change projects impacting Gibraltar, ensuring strategic objectives are delivered compliantly and providing pragmatic, commercial solutions to advisory, conduct and regulatory issues.
Katie is an Executive Director and Senior Relationship Manager of Bank J. Safra Sarasin (Gibraltar) Ltd. Katie joined the Bank following the acquisition of Credit Suisse (Gibraltar) Ltd in 2016 where Katie had spent the previous 5 years as Senior Relationship Manager.
Katie’s career spans 20 years in Banking, predominantly in Private Banking. Katie has served as a GBA committee member since 2022 and more recently has been appointed to the Government of Gibraltar Think Tank for Finance Sectors Product Development working group.
Kim Knudsen embarked on his banking career in 1998 at Jyske Bank in Denmark, where he collaborated closely with the banks international units on their banking platform, configuration, and compliance solutions. In 2007, he transitioned to the Gibraltar branch, which has since evolved into Trusted Novus Bank Ltd. Currently, he serves as the Manager of IT and Business Systems, with additional responsibilities for Facilities. Over the past 25 years, Kim has held a diverse range of roles across operations, client services, and technology, often focusing on banking system processes to ensure the bank's efficient and resilient operations.
Gerald has worked in the Banking Industry for over 30 years, he has extensive knowledge in Foreign Exchange and Treasury Management. Before joining the Gibraltar International Bank Gerald worked for ABN AMRO and assisted them in the setting up and managing their Advisory and Portfolio Management desk, he has also worked for RBS international as Director of Treasury and Investment solutions. He is currently the Chief Treasury & Investment Officer at the Gibraltar International Bank and sits in the Executive Management team . Gerald was one of the original team that was involved in setting up the Bank.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Southampton in 1995, Tyrone returned to Gibraltar to commence a career in the fast growing local Banking and Finance sector. In 2000 Tyrone completed a second degree in Financial Services from the University of Manchester and became a Chartered Associate member of the London Institute of Banking & Finance. Tyrone has a comprehensive and varied professional experience in the Gibraltar financial services sector.
Following graduation, he worked for several years at the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission as a Manager of the department of Fiduciary and Investment Services Supervision. In 2007, Tyrone moved into the private sector and joined Credit Suisse Gibraltar as the Senior Legal and Compliance Officer. He joined SG Hambros Bank in 2014 as the Director of Control and Support Functions. In his current capacity as Chief Operating Officer of Turicum Private Bank, Tyrone is a member of the Senior Management team and has overall responsibility for the Front Office Support Functions, including policy development across the Bank and assisting teams in developing a sound framework of systems, controls and Management Information, commensurate to the business undertaken. Other duties include legislative implementation, maintenance and tracking of the Bank’s Issues log.
Nick joined IDT Financial Services Limited (trading as justbank) Gibraltar in 2020 as Director of Compliance and MLRO after relocating from the UK. He brings 18 years of experience in Compliance, Risk and Financial Crime. Nick has financial services experience in banking, Emoney, fiduciary, insurance, pensions, tax, commercial and consumer lending. He is the regulated individual at justbank who is responsible for Compliance and Risk and is also the MLRO.
Johnathan Almeida began his career in banking in 1996 at HispanoCommerzbank, before moving to the operations team at ABN AMRO in 2001. In 2005 he was awarded a degree in Financial Services from the University of Manchester and became an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in England and Wales. Additionally, Johnathan also holds a law degree, LLB (Hons). Johnathan has enjoyed an interesting and varied career in Banking over the last 25 years, including roles in Operations, Credit and Risk Management and currently holds the post of Chief of Staff at Kleinworthambros. He has been a member of the GBA committee since 2017, serving as President from January 2019 to April 2021.
Amy has worked at or with banks since starting her professional career in 2001. Amy has extensive hands-on knowledge and understanding of the regulatory requirements for banks in accordance with global regulatory standards. Amy is the Head of Compliance & MLRO at Xapo Bank with responsibility for providing guidance and advice to the business, whilst driving the implementation and management of compliance and AML controls, processes, and operations.
Prior to joining Xapo Bank in 2021, Amy spent 11 years at the GFSC working predominantly in Banking and Prudential Supervision, ensuring the stability of the Gibraltar banking sector. Amy has been an executive committee member since 2021.
